Tessa Jayne Russell, ABCDT
Owner/Head Trainer
In March of 2018, after being hired at a local dog shelter as the Assistant Manager, I discovered what I was put on this earth to do: work with canines.
I decided to dip my toes in every dog-related pond I could find.
I started professionally grooming in 2019. I briefly worked as a Veterinary Assistant in 2022. I earned my Animal Behavior College Dog Trainer certification in 2023. I became involved in dog sports that same year, starting in Conformation with my Miniature Poodle, Bones (who is plastered all over this website). Through him, I discovered that innate, remarkable working relationship between human and canine, and my goal is to help you find that precious spark in your relationship with your dog.
Take A Walk was named as such to remind myself and my clients that, sometimes, the best thing you can do is just take your dog for a walk. Even when you are frustrated, and even when you don’t know what else to do; go outside, be with your dog, love your dog.
Hanna Hauck
Executive Manager
Ever since I was little, animals have always been at the center of my world. I started volunteering at my local shelter the minute I could drive myself there. Over the next several years I worked every position I could within the facility until 2023, when I transitioned to a position in a veterinary office, maintaining the schedule and public relations.
I attended Juniata College from 2018-2021, earning a degree in Wildlife Education. Throughout my time there, I worked with every furred, feathered, scaled and even quilled creatures I could through educational facilities that prioritized training to ensure the animals’ comfort and demonstrate natural behaviors. Learning from these facilities immensely helped me understand and thus utilize certain training methods you may see in your sessions.
My role within Take A Walk is to keep you connected to one of my favorite people, keep her organized, and help you in any way that I can. With Take A Walk, I want you to enjoy nature and love your dog.
